New drypoints

Working from the light backstage at UTEP Ballet's Nutcracker, 2006, Soloist is an image of dancer Eileen Lopez, watching the other performers shortly before she goes on for her solo.

This image, about 9 by 12 inches in size, is of dancer Alejandra Calleros. I spent the Easter weekend 2007 grinding away on copper plates with my Dremel tool, trying to capture the mood and shadows backstage, resulting in four variations of "The mood backstage" (above), and later, this version of a pensive and lovely Alejandra.
